1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using EnglishMate, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, please do not use the service.
These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you and EnglishMate concerning your use of the website englishmate.io and the EnglishMate mobile app.
2. Services Description
EnglishMate is an AI-powered English practice service. The website offers the free Vocabulary Playground and information about the app. The app offers live voice and text conversations with an AI tutor, corrections, vocabulary learning with pictures and Bangla meanings, stories, review and progress tracking.
We may modify, suspend or discontinue the service, or any part of it, at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance.
3. User Accounts
The website can be used without an account. The app requires an account, created with your email address or with Google Sign-In, so that your history and progress are saved. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for all activity under your account.
Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app.
4. Plans, Prices and Changes
EnglishMate may add, change or remove plans, prices, monthly minutes, fair-use limits and features at any time, at its sole discretion. Changes apply to new purchases immediately and to existing subscriptions from the next billing period. A change never reduces a period you have already paid for.
If the price of your subscription increases, Google Play will notify you in advance and ask you to accept the new price. If you do not accept, your subscription ends at the close of the paid period.
The free plan is offered without any guarantee of continued availability or of its current limits.
Subscriptions are purchased, billed, renewed and refunded through Google Play under its policies. Nothing is sold on this website. You can cancel at any time in Google Play and keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for.
5. Voice Minutes and Fair Use
Voice minutes are measured by our servers, in 30-second steps, while a voice call with the tutor is open. Plan minutes are credited each billing month, do not roll over, cannot be transferred and have no cash value. Bonus minutes expire on the date shown in the app.
To keep the service reliable for everyone, fair-use limits apply to all plans, including daily message limits and one active voice call per account. Accounts that abuse the service, share access or attempt to bypass metering may be limited or closed.
6. Acceptable Use
When using our services, you agree not to:
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Use the service for illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purposes
- Submit content that is unlawful, offensive, threatening, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the service or any systems connected to the service
- Use the service to generate, store, or transmit material that exploits children or is sexually explicit
- Use the service to send automated queries or engage in data scraping
- Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers or networks
- Use our service to develop competing products or services
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without prior notice or liability, if you breach these Terms.
7. Content and Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality on EnglishMate, including text, graphics, logos, pictures, audio, stories and software, are the property of EnglishMate or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, license, or otherwise exploit any content from our service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
8. Your Content
What you type and say in EnglishMate remains yours. You give us permission to process it only as needed to operate the service for you: to generate replies and corrections, to save your history in your account and to show it back to you.
We do not use your conversations or your voice to train AI models, and we never sell them. We do not keep recordings of your voice. See the Privacy Policy for details. You are responsible for what you submit and for its legality.
9. AI Generated Content
Our service uses artificial intelligence to hold conversations and suggest corrections. We work to make it accurate and appropriate, but we cannot guarantee it. The AI may occasionally:
- Provide incorrect information, corrections or explanations
- Misunderstand what you said or wrote
- Generate responses that are not culturally appropriate or relevant to your context
EnglishMate is a practice tool. It is not an accredited course or an official preparation provider for any examination, and it does not guarantee any exam score, job offer or other result. You use AI-generated content at your own discretion.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EnglishMate, its owners, employees, partners, suppliers and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the service
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the service
- Any content obtained from the service
- Unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liability. Accordingly, some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
11. Disclaimer
Your use of the service is at your sole risk. The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
EnglishMate does not warrant that: (a) the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location; (b) any errors or defects will be corrected; or (c) the results of using the service will meet your requirements.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will give reasonable notice on this page or in the app before it takes effect. Changes to plans and prices are described in section 4.
By continuing to use the service after revisions become effective, you agree to the revised terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.
